YouTube Channel Money Calculator

What is the YouTube Money Calculator?

The YouTube Money Calculator estimates how much a channel makes from AdSense using two inputs: the channel’s real view figures, pulled live from the YouTube Data API when you paste a channel link, and an RPM (revenue per thousand views) range you set for its niche and audience country. It gives a low, typical and high monthly and yearly estimate, and shows the assumptions so you can adjust them. Nothing is guessed from subscriber counts; views and RPM are what actually pay.

How to use it

  1. Paste a channel URL (youtube.com/@handle, /channel/ID or /c/name), or type a monthly view figure by hand.
  2. Pick the niche. Finance, business and tech pay several times more per view than gaming, vlogs or music.
  3. Pick the main audience country. US, UK, Canada and Australia RPMs are far higher than most of Asia and South America.
  4. Read the low to high range. Adjust the RPM slider if you have better information.

Why RPM varies so much

Advertisers pay for the audience, not the creator. A finance channel with US viewers can see an RPM of 15 to 30 dollars; a gaming channel with a young international audience might see 1 to 3. Videos over eight minutes can run mid-roll ads and earn noticeably more per view. Shorts pay a fraction of long-form. Seasonality matters too: Q4 RPMs are often 30 to 50 percent higher than January. The calculator’s ranges reflect these patterns; the full tables by niche and country, the difference between CPM and RPM, and the thresholds for monetisation are in how much does YouTube actually pay?

What the estimate leaves out

  • Sponsorships, affiliate income, memberships and merchandise, which for many channels exceed ad revenue.
  • The share of views that are unmonetised (ad blockers, unsuitable content, regions with no ads).
  • Whether the channel is actually in the Partner Program.
  • Month-to-month variation; the figure is an average.

Who uses this

Creators benchmarking what a niche could pay before committing to it, brands sizing up a creator’s leverage before a sponsorship negotiation, journalists sanity-checking a claimed income, and anyone curious about a channel they watch.

How Much Does YouTube Actually Pay? RPM, CPM and the Four Things That Decide It

Why a million views pays 0 for one channel and ,000 for another: CPM vs RPM, the niche and country tables, the 8-minute mid-roll rule, monetisation thresholds, and where to find your real number in YouTube Studio.

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is it?

Within a factor of two for most channels, which is as good as any outside estimate can be; only YouTube Studio shows the real number.

Do subscribers matter?

Only indirectly. Views are what earn money; a channel with 50k subscribers and 2 million monthly views earns far more than one with 500k subscribers and 100k views.

Does it work for Shorts channels?

Yes, but set the RPM low; Shorts typically pay a tenth of long-form per view.

Is any data stored?

No. The channel lookup is a live API call and nothing is saved.
