Face Shape Detector

or drop it here. Use a clear, front-facing photo with even light.

The photo is analysed in your browser and is never uploaded. The face model (about 1 MB) loads from a public CDN the first time.

This is an AI estimate of apparent age and can be off by 5 to 10 years or more. Lighting, makeup, expression and image quality all change the result. Do not use it for age verification.

Face shape here is a rough guess from 68 landmark points and simple ratios. Hair, camera angle and expression change it. Use it for fun and style ideas only.

This test compares the left and right sides of the face in the photo. It says nothing about attractiveness or health, and perfect symmetry does not exist in real faces. A tilted head, a smile or a wide-angle lens change the score.

What this face shape detector does

This face shape detector finds the largest face in a photo, marks 68 landmark points and compares a few ratios: face length to width, jaw width to face width and brow width to face width. From these it suggests one of six common shapes: oval, round, square, heart, diamond or oblong. The photo stays in your browser and is not uploaded.

How to use it

  1. Choose a clear, front-facing photo. Pull hair back from the forehead and jaw, look straight at the camera and keep a neutral expression.
  2. Wait a few seconds the first time while the face model (about 1 MB) loads.
  3. Read the suggested shape and the three measurements under it.
  4. Try a second photo. If the shape changes, your face sits between two shapes.

The six shapes

  • Oval: a little longer than wide, with a softly rounded jaw.
  • Round: about as wide as long, with soft curves.
  • Square: a strong, wide jaw and a forehead of similar width.
  • Heart: a wider forehead narrowing to a smaller chin.
  • Diamond: widest at the cheekbones, with a narrower forehead and jaw.
  • Oblong: clearly longer than wide.

How accurate is it?

This is a rough guide. The 68-point model is built to find the main parts of a face, not to describe the jawline exactly, so the jaw measurement varies very little between people. Length to width is the most reliable number. Camera angle, hair, a smile and the lens all change the result, and real faces rarely match one shape exactly. Use it for fun or as a starting point for style ideas, not as a rule.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded?

No. The analysis runs in your browser. Only the face model files are downloaded.

Why does my result change between photos?

Tilting the head or using a close wide-angle camera changes the ratios. A straight, even photo from a distance gives the steadiest result.

Does the shape say anything about me?

No. It is only a description of proportions.
